There is so much I want to tell you. So many things I wish you could have done differently... but then again I don't think I would change anything you've done for anything in the world. Because if I change anything you did back then, we wouldn't be here, now.
I can probably give you a few clues that won't change too much.
This letter (if you got it exactly 8 years ago today) would be getting to you in your first week of freshman year. It's a fun ride. I promise you, as much as you grow to hate it there, you will make it through. If you haven't already, you're going to meet a girl in Mr. Kerr's history class. You'll also have another class or two with her. Keep her close to you. She'll be important in your future. If you grow apart, don't worry too much, she'll come back around. In a few months, you're going to meet a boy. Oh, this boy :) I'll let you figure this one out on your own, because I'm not going to say anything that will ruin that. Just follow your heart on this one. You might feel like it's leading you wrong sometimes, but it won't.

He'll make you smile like this. Constantly. |

Oh but this boy, he will make you smile like THIS. Every day. |
You're going to get in your first "real" trouble soon. Don't worry too much about it. You'll learn from it, and you'll be a better person for it.
Next year, you're going to go on your first real vacation. Soak up the memories, because years from now, you're still going to look back on it as one of the best times of your life.

This is the only picture I can give you without it giving too much away |
Stay close to your family, because in the next few years, you're really going to need them. Don't worry though, even 8 years from now, Mom and Nicole are still your best friends. And believe it or not, you and Jakob are actually pretty close now. Who'da thought?

Oh little girl, I wish I could tell you everything. I wish you could see his sleepy smile every morning like I do. I wish you could hear these little boys giggle.
I'll wrap this up with one final thought. At 22, (almost 23) this is never where you thought you'd be. But I'm pretty sure you'd agree with me when I say, we wouldn't want it any other way.
Xoxo, 22 year old Bree
